Safety Training Institute

The SafetyWorks! Safety Training Institute is open to all Maine workers to learn about workplace safety.

The facility includes classroom space for SafetyWorks! safety and health courses and includes a large indoor facility where workers can get hands-on training on a variety of different topics, including:

  • fall protection;
  • confined spaces;
  • forklift operation;
  • scaffolding;
  • electrical hazards;
  • ergonomics; and
  • ladder safety.

The SafetyWorks! Safety Training Institute is located at 45 Commerce Drive, Augusta, ME 04330

From the South: From I-95 take Exit 112B in Augusta and bear right onto Route 27 toward Belgrade. Approximately 1.7 miles, you will see an MDOL sign directing you to turn left onto Commerce Drive.  Once on Commerce Drive, take your second right and park in the parking lot with the large communication tower. Enter the Maine Department of Labor entrance and follow the SafetyWorks! Training Institute signs.

From North: Same, except take Exit 112.
